mind and heart

Encounters and Zeitgeist:

Prologue:

In this blog, I would like to record and process what happens to me in my life, because it has become too much to keep track of on my own. Encounters and Zeitgeist — these are the two aspects I want to focus on. In a lecture Johannes Stüttgen gave on Monday, he describes how a contemporary relationship between the heart and the mind can develop.

You will find the link to the lecture here as soon as it is published.

I also want to focus on an equal relationship between the heart and the mind here. A genuine, sincere encounter with another person can be clearly experienced through a feeling of warmth that arises in a conversation – i.e. through the mind – but the warm connection is formed directly from heart to heart. In my opinion, this connection only arises to the extent that one’s own mind is in a respectful relationship with one’s own heart. In my experience, a nourishing energy experience in encounters with other people requires three things. First, an encounter between mind and mind; second, a respectful relationship between one’s own mind and one’s own heart; and third, only then can the encounter between mind and mind also lead to an encounter between heart and heart.

Taking this triad seriously and promoting and striving for it in one’s own conversations requires a lot of energy. When successful, the energy expended is always significantly less than the energy that is then generated between people.

I will attempt to take these three aspects into account in my descriptions, both in the description of encounters and in the description of the zeitgeist, or more precisely, the description of my perception of the zeitgeist.
